The Hobbit, by LG
In the Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins got trapped inside a cavern, and the dwarves and Gandalf left him. They didn't even know he fell and hit his head on a rock and remembered nothing else. Then he found Gollum and he found a ring, an evil ring that was made by Saruman. Now if you watched the Lord of the Rings, you would have known this. Now I've got something else to tell you. If you wear that ring, you would become invisible. How would you like that? And Gollum and Bilbo told riddles to each other. Now this is a hard one...Alive without breath, as cold as death, never thirsty, never drinking, all in mail never clinking. Can you guess it? This is as far as we got in The Hobbit.

Wow LG...I read the Hobbit in 6th grade and don't remember anything about it. I'm perplexed by the riddle.
I've never seen Lord of the Rings. Would you recommend it?
About being invisible...At first when I read that I thought I might like to be invisible. I thought it might be nice to watch my kids without them knowing it or hear what people say about me when I'm not around. Then I remememberd something Clarissa and I read in one of the Chronicles of Narnia books. In it, Lucy looked at a book and was able to see some of her friends gossiping about her and she felt really bad about it. The Lion told her it wasn't really wise to look at that book. Also, the Bible tells us not to pay attention to everything people say about us because we know that we have said some things about people that we probably regret or didn't really mean. So, maybe it wouldn't be all that great to be invisible. I might find out some things I really don't want to know.
Are you going to tell us the answer to the riddle or do we have to read the book and find out on our own?
Guy, this is Uncle Nate. I read that book myself not too long ago, so I know the answer to your riddle, but I won't spoil it. The part you wrote about was one of my favorite parts. What I think would be crazy would be to be in a place that dark!
I think I would like to be invisible, though. There are a lot of people I might play pranks on if I was.
Cousin Lydia and Uncle Nate, the answer is fish.
You have to watch each episode of Lord of the Rings. The episodes are The Fellowship of the Ring, Return of the King, and Two Towers. And the last one has a very very incredible ending.
If I were invisible, I would probably sneak out of the house and get some money from the house and then I would go out and buy all the ice cream cones I wanted. I could turn myself uninvisible when I got to the Ice cream place. I would say, Sir, I want an ice cream cone and a glass of orange juice.
LG, I have all three episodes of Lord of the Rings, extended versions and all, and I still didn't know the answer to that riddle. Glad you told us the answer; I was pretty stumped.
The last time I saw you eat ice cream, your face was covered in purple. I can't imagine what you would look like if you ate all the ice cream cones you wanted. I also can't imagine how hyper you would be if you had all the ice cream cones you wanted plus a glass of orange juice.
Much like all the reading I do, if the first sentence doesn't interest me, I just stop reading. So, you lost me on this one...
